Back to Basics: Black Ink & A Giveaway!!

Hi all!

I've been off the "crafty" grid for a month due to an unusual amount of basically family things (everything is fine right now, actually pretty good!)  I promised myself and those who visit my blog, youtube channel or instagram that I would only post what I would consider "quality" things and not quantity.  So, I can't promise a set amount of posts per week, month...  I guess that turns off some people, but I hope you understand that I really can't be consistent.

So here is my first video of 2019!    The supplies are linked below and the giveaway information is in the video.  Giveaway ends 1/20/2019. ***Winner is Susan Thatcher!!!**. I need your snail mail address 😁

Here is a quick overview:

General Properties of Dye Inks:
*soak into paper
*quick drying (not good for heat embossing)
*lighten after dry

*can’t use with black paper

and our chart:

General Properties of Pigment Inks:

*sit on top of paper
*slower drying (good for embossing)
*can use with black paper
*color same after dry

and the chart:

Specialty Inks:

StazOn—solvent based ink for slick (non-porous) surfaces.
Hybrid Inks—have some properties of both dye and pigment inks
Distress Inks—an ink that is very water reactive.  Distress Oxides have properties of pigment inks, but still water reactive.

I really hope you found this guide helpful and share it with others!  Here are the supplies I used (afil):

See you soon!!
